My first quilted
wallhanging with applique. Made for Daniel, the son of a friend. I
prepared him for his Bar Mitzvah and taught him Hebrew. This was to mark
the occasion. |
|
The first large
quilt I made was for our son's 21st birthday, a so-called 'freedom' quilt.
He chose the colours himself and designed one of the blocks.
|
|
My second quilt was
for my mother in Holland, made with Dutch folklore fabrics, many from
Staphorst. |

|
The third quilt I
made was for our daughter's 21st birthday. She wanted an Amish type quilt,
with Bible texts around a picture in the centre. |

"Dear Jane"
Quilt. The quilt I am making now is for my husband, and it is a replica of
a quilt made by Jane Stickle in 1863 during the Civil War in America.

2002 "Dear
Jane" Siggie Swap. Signature blocks from all over the world. Everyone
who took part made around 200 identical signature blocks, sent them to a 'Swap
Mummy' in America, and received back around 200 different ones. Click
picture for more photos. |

Since the end of
December 2006 I have started Baltimore blocks.
I am using Elly
Sienkiewicz' book Baltimore Beauties and Beyond Vol. 1, and am working
through the twelve lessons in it. |
