The whole works of Dr. William Bates were first
published by Aylmer and Robinson in 1700, the year after his death.
They
were "The works of the late reverend and learned William Bates D.D., to which
are added,
two discourses never before published; viz. 1. 'On divine
meditation.' 2. 'On the fear of God.'"
In 1723 a second edition was printed
for James Knapton, John Wyat and 14 others, with the addition of
'The
everlasting rest of the saints in heaven.'
In 1815 the whole works were
arranged and revised by the Rev W. Farmer and printed for James Black and 3
others.
