William Bates D.D.

The whole works of Dr. William Bates were first published by Aylmer and Robinson in 1700, the year after his death.
They were "The works of the late reverend and learned William Bates D.D., to which are added,
two discourses never before published; viz. 1. 'On divine meditation.' 2. 'On the fear of God.'"
In 1723 a second edition was printed for James Knapton, John Wyat and 14 others, with the addition of
'The everlasting rest of the saints in heaven.'
In 1815 the whole works were arranged and revised by the Rev W. Farmer and printed for James Black and 3 others.


The Great Duty of Resignation to the Divine Will in Affliction.
This was first published in 1684 in London.
The Title-page reads: Printed by J.D. for Brabazon Aylmer, at the three Pigeons over against the Royal-Exchange in Cornhil, 1684.
